Facility Renovation Update - September 2025

PVNC Facility Renovation

We are delighted to share that the Visitor Center and bird blind have officially reopened to the public after more than a year of extensive renovations. Inside, the building now features a new roof, siding, HVAC system, fresh drywall, painting, remodeled gift shop, and new flooring—all of which have transformed the space into a brighter, more welcoming environment.

As with any major project, challenges arose along the way, including mold remediation, storage solutions, and water mitigation. Thanks to the persistence of staff and volunteers, we’ve worked through these hurdles, and the Center is once again open for all to enjoy.

Outdoors, major progress has also been made. Following the 2023 Master Trail Plan, work began on repairing our “arterial trails”—starting with the Pine Path. Plans are already underway to make Evergreen, Pond, Lenape, and Woods Edge paths more universally accessible.

In late 2024, a stormwater management plan was launched, and we are excited to report that Phase 1 construction is now complete. A new bioswale and flourishing rain garden are already reducing flooding near the Visitor Center and bird blind, improving access while creating new habitat for native plants and pollinators.

This past year has tested us, but it has also showcased the extraordinary resilience and dedication of our staff, volunteers, and supporters. Their tireless efforts have not only brought the facility back to life but strengthened our community spirit.

To our members and friends: thank you for your patience and unwavering support during the closure. Because of you, Peace Valley Nature Center is thriving once again. If you would like to further support ongoing trail work and future projects, we invite you to consider a donation. Together, we are ensuring this special place remains a hub of learning, connection, and natural beauty for years to come.
