Take a walkabout in nature with us! This series is for adults who want to stay active and expand their knowledge of the natural world. Each week has a unique theme, which we'll explore through an educational hike.

Join a local birding expert for a guided walk at Peace Valley Nature Center, where you'll explore the trails in search of local bird species. This is a great opportunity to learn and practice bird-watching and identification.

Join Wild Reads, a monthly on the third Friday, book club hosted by the nature center, where we explore stories and ideas that deepen our connection to nature. From memoirs and essays to fiction and field guides, we read a variety of books that celebrate, question, and illuminate the wild around and within us.

Join a Naturalist for a leisurely spring hike to discover what’s blooming across the landscape. We’ll search for delicate spring ephemerals on the forest floor, as well as the blossoms of shrubs and trees bursting into color. Along the way, we’ll explore how these seasonal blooms support pollinators and birds, and why timing is so important in the spring ecosystem. Perfect for curious nature lovers who want to experience the beauty and science of the season.

Birds & Bagels for Beginners

If you've wanted to begin watching birds, but didn't know where to start, here is your opportunity. We’ll start with bagels and coffee then learn the basics of field identification through visual and behavioral cues, as well as some common song recognition. Next we will head out to test our new found knowledge in the field. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Watersheds Revealed: How They Work and Why they Matter

Join the Bucks County Conservation District for an engaging presentation and hands-on demonstrations that unpack how watersheds function as living systems. You’ll explore the critical environmental services watersheds provide, see how water moves across the landscape, and investigate the natural and human stressors that affect watershed health. Along the way, discover how native plants help filter pollutants, stabilize soil, absorb stormwater, and support wildlife—making them essential allies in keeping our watersheds healthy and resilient. Together, we’ll honor the vision that shaped Peace Valley, explore how it has grown over time, and look ahead to the future of conservation, community, and nature education in our region.
INTRODUCTION TO SPRING FORAGING AND GARLIC MUSTARD PULL

Discover the magic of finding food in the forest in this introductory foraging class. We’ll focus on safety and the ethics of responsible harvesting, then head out on the trail to identify and pull garlic mustard - an invasive species with surprising culinary uses. It won’t be long before the hummingbirds will return to zip around your yard. Join us to learn more about these flying jewels and how to attract them to your garden. Each participant will make a simple feeder to take home in this hands-on workshop.

Barbara "Bluejay" Michalski will discuss the past, present and future of the Lenape people, explaining how she keeps her upbringing in the Lenape culture and continues her role as caretaker in her homeland. Bluejay will encourage ways that nurture a peaceful relationship with the environment, and will have culture items for display and viewing. Open discussion and questions are welcome.
WINGS OVER PEACE VALLEY: 50 YEARS OF BIRDING STORIES

Join us for an engaging evening conversation with a panel of local birders as we explore the past, present, and future of birding at Peace Valley Nature Center. Panelists will share stories from the early days of birding in the park, discuss current projects—including the development of the Birds of Bucks County book—and reflect on how birding and bird conservation continue to evolve in our region. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply curious about the birds that call Peace Valley home, this informal discussion offers a unique opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with fellow bird enthusiasts.

Fireflies are the defining creature of summer time, so they deserve their own night! Our firefly walk is a family-friendly event centered around this bioluminescent cohabitant. You're sure to learn a lot and have a memorable time!

BAT BONANZA

Experience the magic of the park after dark on this exciting night hike as we search for bats (Chiroptera) in their natural habitat. Along the way, you’ll uncover fascinating facts about these often-misunderstood creatures and their vital role in our ecosystem. Please note, the event will be canceled in case of inclement weather.
