LUMINARIA STROLL

Friday, December 12th: 5pm -7pm

Age: All Ages (minors must be accompanied by an adult)

Step into the quiet beauty of winter as hundreds of softly glowing luminaries guide you along Peace Valley Nature Center’s meandering trail. Watch the sun set over Lake Galena while the flicker of candlelight grows brighter, creating a peaceful glow through the trees. After your stroll, gather by the crackling campfire to sip warm drinks and enjoy the calm of a December evening. Let the gentle lights and stillness of nature welcome the season in a truly magical way. Rain Date December 13th.

MAPLE SUGARING CELEBRATION

Saturday, February 21st: 11am -2pm

Age: All Ages (minors must be accompanied by an adult)

FREE /Donations kindly accepted

Bring family and friends or come as a group and experience the way maple sugar was collected and made during the pioneer days. We will travel to the sugar bush to bring back some maple sap for the addition to the boiling pot of soon-to-be syrup.

PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL TOURS: MAPLE SUGARING EVENT (limited spots available)

Age: All Ages (minors must be accompanied by an adult) Grades K-6 recommended

 $10 per child (siblings under 3 may accompany for no charge)

Groups of 15 children with their designated adult(s).


Have a homeschool, scout, or other group? Book a private educational tour to delve deeper into the magic of Maple Sugaring! Learn about the structure of trees and their importance in ecosystems. Listen to sap flow, visit the “sugar bush” to see tapped trees. Experience the signs of winter turning into spring. Taste the product of the sugar maple trees and visit the kettle to see sap boiling down into syrup.

BACKYARD BIRD COUNT

As a rehabilitation center, Aark admits sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife daily. The goal is to return these animals to their natural environment as quickly as possible. Annually more than 5,000 birds mammals, reptiles, and amphibians receive care at Aark, making it one of the busiest wildlife center in Pennsylvania. Due to habitat loss, and human expansion, the need for wildlife rehabilitation centers and the services provided by them is at an all time high.

PYSANKA WORKSHOP: UKRAINIAN EASTER EGGS

Saturday and Sunday, March 21st &22nd: 1pm - 2:15pm

$35 per person


Learn how to decorate eggs with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist batik method. You'll create up to 3 beautiful eggs with Daria, an experienced teacher who will show you how they're made. You only need to sign up for one session. Class size limited, ages 15+.
